I did install the 96.43.11 driver on Jaunty 9.04 beta and found it's performance to be no different than the 96.43.10 driver that comes installed standard with Jaunty. I'll try it again (maybe) when the Jaunty final is released. For now I suggest if you are running Ubuntu 9.04, to just use the Hardware Drivers Mgr to activate the included nVidia 96.43.10 driver.

If it were mine, I would leave the button as-is to preserve the authenticity, and use a wider strap. If the authenticity isn't important for you, then by all means it can be changed. I just hope you find the sweet-spot for the button on your first try.

Those star inlays probably proved to be more trouble than they were worth, especially for a low cost version of the Artist. I must agree with you that the sound is good and fairly unique.

Hi, new to this forum. I just picked up a 2614 mahogany Ibanez.
Its great! Awesome sounding, and it looks good too. Although a few of the stars in the fret board have bulged up causing some bad notes. Also I find the guitar to be a litle shoulder heavy. I was thinking of moving the strap button to the top of the body under the neck. What do you think? Would this help balance out the weight.

thanks
