Fender Bassman ‘62 blond
Here’s a smooth rig for small to medium club gigs. You may be wondering why that Telecaster is coupled with the Bassman amp. It’s because the ‘62 Bassman makes a better blues amp than bass amp. Compared to the ‘60 Tweed Bassman this amp achieves overdrive at a lower volume level. Tom’s amp below still has the original two 12″ speakers. There’s not much fire in the high end, don’t look for sparkling clean tones. It’s not a versatile amp but it excels at the blues. The matching Fender Reverb unit is essential, a distortion pedal isn’t.
